Old
romantic seeks new partner for fun and travel.
Twee
Gebroeders is a 1924 riveted Luxe motor of beautiful proportions.
She has
been owned for the last 16 years by the Dutch modern artist Bob Sinkeler.
Although
mainly based in Holland, Bob has used the boat as his inspirational studio
cruising across most of the European waterways stopping off at places of
interest to paint and socialize pretty much as his fancy took him.
You
couldn’t be blamed for thinking what a life, not luxurious but basic simple and
enough.
Bob
moulded the boat around his artistic requirements in such a way that it
provided him with all his needs.
If you
are the time of life where this could appeal to you then here is your chance.
Built in
1924 she worked the waterways of Holland.
Judging
by her current condition 82 years later her original skipper must have loved
this boat.

Although
the boat is still in sailing condition she is now ready for some restoration
work.

This
picture illustrates the beautiful sheer lines of the boat with low freeboard
and low air draft.
It is planned to -:
Blast
clean, inspect and repaint the hull.
Replace
the forward bollard boxes, bollards and pins.
Replace
the aft ship, bollard boxes, bollards and pins.
Repair
the rudder shaft and tube.
Upgrade
the electrical systems.
Upgrade
the Gas systems.
Upgrade
the water systems.
Upgrade
mechanical systems where required.

In her
current state the boat, is quite charming retaining her original -:
Aft cabin
with original handrail, roof lights and miniature rear center porthole.
Ships
wheel still on chains.
Traditional
Luxe Motor rub rail with half round wrapped all around the rub rail, which is
in remarkably good condition.
The
bulwarks and hull are generally in good and original condition and the internal
framing is robustly constructed on frames at 200 centers and relatively rust
free.
The
counter stern is of wonderful proportions and cut away at an almost horizontal
angle.
The
rudder and rudder shaft are original and in need of some restoration work.
When she
was converted, (we believe in the early 60’s) the original wheelhouse was
removed and a new extended fixed steel version fitted providing a light and
airy space with plenty of room for a table and chairs.
The low
water and air draft makes this boat superbly suited for the European waterways.

Pretty
much as it was when first converted in or around the 1960’s the fit out is
simple and basic.
The
steering is still in its original form with the original wheel and chain rudder
drive.
There is
a VHF radio.
There is
an lovely original oil anchor light.
The
accommodation comprises of a 3.4 meter original rear cabin with two berths, one
lower and one upper, sea toilet, storage shelves a table and a chair.
There is
an original roof light with hinging opening window frames.

The wheelhouse is large light and airy with -:
Somey oil fired stove,
Original wheel still on chains.
Folding helm seat.
Table and chairs.
Plenty of space for charts etc.

The galley is accessed down oak and copper
edged steps and comprises of-:
4 Burner Gas ring with 230-volt extractor fan
over.
Single bowl stainless sink with cold water
supply.
Single worktop with 230volt grill oven at high
level.
Lovely contemporary corner cupboard opposite.
Indonesian 2” planked hardwood floor.

The
saloon is forward of the galley having low level cupboards and shelving down
each side with an integrated single wardrobe at the side of the oil burning
stove.
Indonesian
2” planked hardwood floor continues through from the galley.
The
forward berth is accessed by a single door with porthole feature and has a
built in double bed with storage under.
Indonesian
2” planked hardwood floor and low level cupboards under the side decks.

Further
forward annexed to the forward double berth is a low level library with
central
library table.
Book
storage is provided by shelving around the periphery.
There is
a roof light in the center of the library roof.
