1 Introduction

1. High Quality Replica 15 x 3.18 meter Luxe Motor Hull incorporating many original boat features. Beautiful counter stern with visible rudder peak.

Original style 25 mm thick stem post with original and typical Luxe Motor top profile.

2. The boat is being fabricated and engineering items are being fitted on a continual basis.

Positioning of tanks and access points has been planned to accommodate the suggested fit out, details of which are illustrated on the drawing Fig 1.

3. Price as of 15-02-06 is £60,000 exc. Vat.

4. Potential customers will note that the price will increase in line with the level of engineering items, which have been fitted.

7. The hull is fabricated from Lloyds Grade A steel.

8. Completion date is early spring 2006.

9. General construction is a multi-hard chine replica of the original and beautiful Dutch boats on frames at 500 centres.

10. All the flat profile plates, used in the construction of the hull are pre sand blasted and primed before assembly, the finished hull will be painted in a grey holding primer.

11. The Steel thickness used in construction is as follows.

5. Rubbing Strake           150mm x 15 mm with 50 mm solid, full half round applied.

6. Bulwarks                     40 mm, solid full half-rounds are applied to the bulwark tops, forward and aft cabin roof edges.

12. The Amartec “Easy Stern” drive system fits into a one piece stern tube from the swim to inside engine room, there is no possibility of external water leaks into the aft cabin bilge.

1. General Details.

1.2 Tanks

1. Removable and independent Fuel tanks x 2 off x 810 litres each approx.

2. Filling points are planned at starboard and port sides with vents and Vetus fuel level gauge pre fitted.

Inspection holes with flanged and bolted covers are fitted.

3. Removable and independent Black water Tank 3mm thick, Stainless steel type 304L with level sensor mounting point and multiple access / inspection points. All Vetus fittings are provided.

4. Removable and independent Fresh water tank 3mm thick, Stainless steel type 304L with Vetus Access plugs and level indicator. All Vetus fittings are provided.

1. Watertight High Precision seamless stern tube for Amartec "Easy Stern" Shaft System

3. Amartec Easy Stern, water lubricated, propulsion system.

4. Amartec FASTER Mn Bronze 4 blade propeller Dia 24" x 20 RH Type K4.65 Skew 30 deg. Rake 8 deg.

1.4. Steering

1. Seamless Steel Rudder shaft tube.

2. Amartec Easy Stern Rudder Bearings System.

3. Aerofoil Profiled and balanced rudder with Amartec Easy Stern foot bearing on P.T.F.E. frictionless base.

4. Rudder Shaft Stainless Steel 316 grade Dia 50mm with square emergency steering point and split flange joint allowing easy and convenient rudder removal.

5. Steering actuator quadrants for twin cylinder operation.

1.5. Drainage

1 Mid and aft ship Scupper drain pipes.

2. Forward and aft cabin roofs are convex and sheered to shed water in both directions.

3. Wheelhouse foundation is angled to allow water to drain from wheelhouse roof as per original Dutch boats.

1.6. Handrails

1. Steel Handrail for aft ship as per original Dutch boats

2. Steel Grab rails for forward and aft cabin roof. 

1.7. Cooling

1.20. Independent heavy duty keel cooling tubes with no potential for internal corrosion of hull via skin type cooling tanks.

1.8. Mooring and Locking

1. As per original Dutch boats, bollards are positioned forward and midships just aft of wheelhouse doors for fast and easy access.

This feature allows a competent skipper to lock single handed, if required.

2.  Integrated Bollard boxes covering the bollard pipes makes for easy cleaning and no rust traps.

1.9. Impact Protection

All the original Luxe Motor barges had a vertical rubbing strake or band fitted at the top of the vertical hull plates. This band extended completely around the vessel and was further reinforced by the addition of a 50 mm full half round (Not a D section or tube section as many of the English replicas have.)

Many of the original Dutch boats had a further full half round to protect and reinforce the bulwark top.

This boat has further full half rounds fitted to the edge of the forward and aft cabin roofs.

1. 150 x 15 rubbing strake or band as per original Dutch boats.   

2. 50 mm full half rounds fitted to rubbing strake as per original Dutch boats.

3. 40 mm full half rounds fitted to top of bulwarks and forward and aft roof edges as per original Dutch boats.

4. Proper Bulwarks fully extending from correct stem post to aft ship as per original

Dutch boats.

1. 4 off Cast brass aft cabin window frames are included and mounted in tapering recessed integral window frames.

2. 6 off Bronze opening portholes are provided for the forward cabin.

These are fitted in tapering, steel tubes.
